Welcome to the New Year!

Hello there fellow bloggers, writers and dreamers.

Can you believe that there is less than a month left in order to submit?

Be sure to follow the theme and the guidelines EXACTLY.  My editors and I are very strict about them, especially as we’re getting this close to the end.

We have a wonderful array of artwork, photography, fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry and we hope that you will add your masterpiece to this collection.

I hope that all of you will enjoy reading these pieces as much as I have.

There is just something so beautiful about strange fairy tales, and I can’t get enough.  The book will be out on April 1st 2014. I’m sure it’s release is highly anticipated 🙂

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! Let’s start off 2014 with a bang!

We’ve Updated the Webpage

With less than two months left to accept submissions, the pacificREVIEW team is getting excited about formatting and sending out those acceptance letters (via email, of course).

New updates have been posted onto the webpage.  Please notice our word limit has changed and that the amount of submissions you can give us has been altered as well.

I’ve included snazzy new pictures of our WONDERFUL team (just so you are more familiar with us), and updated the background for fun.

Keep those strange fairy tale minds of yours working!  The submissions we’ve received have been out of this world (which is exactly what we’re hoping for).  Don’t wait until the last minute to send in your work.

NO SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS PLEASE!

If you fail to follow the submission guidelines or the theme, be ready for an instantaneous rejection.  It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, and following directions is KEY for success.

Submit Submit Submit!

Our inbox has been sitting quietly these past couple of weeks.  Even though we’ve been getting a submission every other day or so, we want more!

We are looking to make this the BEST edition of the pacificREVIEW yet, and we need YOUR help.

Tell your friends and your family.

And don’t forget to check out the COVER CONTEST guidelines! We are making a decision by January 15th, and that’s only a month away.

Just keep to the theme.  Remember what it’s like to be a stranger.  And add fairy tale elements into it.  Once you get it started, you’ll never want to stop!

In fact, I’ve just delved into my own version of The Little Mermaid and can’t wait to try to get that out into the real world!

Just remember that we’re ALL just STRANGERS to HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

Keep away from those happy, sappy endings.

The Holidays are Upon Us!

Hey everybody!

Thank you for all of the submissions so far.  We’ve selected a fantastic variety of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, photography and art so far, but still no graphic narratives!  If you have friends who like comics and draw them, please let them know about us!  We want their work.

Also, we are STILL accepting submissions for our STRANGELY EVER AFTER issue.  We will be accepting them ALL THE WAY until FEBRUARY 1, 2014, but it never hurts to submit early.

We’ve loved the amount of work we have received, but we want more!  Continue to spread the word and get our name out there.

We hope that this will be the best pacificREVIEW edition YET.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

We have been receiving a multitude of submissions, but we want more!  So, to get some of those creative juices flowing, I am providing a list of potential ideas – you make them blossom into a beautiful rose.  I’m merely providing the dirt for which you can plant it.

  • Halloween
  • Zombies
  • Werewolves
  • Flesh-eating bats
  • Undead princesses
  • Cross Dressing Princes
  • Talking lions
  • A Hawk mixed with a Pitbull
  • A fish that can fly
  • Owls that can morph into other animals
  • Vampires
  • Monsters with horns
  • A mermaid that lives in sand
  • A Pirate at a church convention
  • A native spanish speaker in an English class
  • People living in space
  • Goblins
  • A 16 year old in a bar
  • Aphrodite and Cupid in a competition

Just little things that might get some ideas pumping through your veins.  Take these tidbits and make them YOURS.  Make them ORIGINAL.  Make them STRANGE.  And make them FANTASTICAL.

TODAY IS THE BIG DAY

Submissions are being accepted all the way up to February 1, 2014!

We are interested in fiction, creative nonfiction, photography, artwork of all kinds, and graphic narrative.

Please follow the pages above to see submission/theme guidelines.

And please allow for a 3 to 4 month response time so that we can adequately read over all submissions before sending out letters.

The Wonders of a Strange World

Only 2 days left until the submission season is upon us. What will you write?  A sad tale about a princess’ death?  The untold story of the romance between Prince Charming and Prince Philip?  A lone wanderer lost in the forest, only to be surrounded by a pack of murderous fairies?  THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS.
